Q&A

Over the years, clients have frequently asked us questions about the rendering process. To help you better understand how it works, we’ve answered some of the most common questions below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question 1: What Does a 3D Rendering Artist Actually Do?
Answer 1: A 3D rendering artist creates realistic visual representations of spaces, buildings, interiors, and products before they are built or manufactured. We specialise in high-quality photorealistic 3D renderings that help clients clearly visualise architectural designs, interior spaces, and products with realistic lighting, materials, textures, and detail. These visuals are used for presentations, marketing, approvals, and design development.

Question 2: How Much Does Photorealistic 3D Rendering Cost?
Answer 2: The cost of photorealistic 3D rendering can vary depending on the scope, complexity, and level of detail required for each project. At our studio, every rendering is priced independently, as no two spaces or products require the same amount of work.
For example, a detailed deli or retail space would require significantly more modelling, materials, lighting, shelving, products, and finishing detail than a simple bathroom interior, resulting in more rendering and production time. Factors such as the size of the space, number of views, design complexity, and turnaround time all influence the final cost.
Should you require multiple renderings of the same space or product from different angles, we are often able to reduce the rate per render due to repeated modelling work and project efficiencies.

Question 3: Can 3D Renderings Replace Product Photography?
Answer 3: In many cases, yes. High-quality photorealistic 3D renderings can be an excellent alternative to traditional product photography, especially for products that are still in development, custom-designed, or not yet manufactured.
We create realistic product renderings with accurate materials, lighting, textures, and detail that can be used for marketing, online stores, presentations, packaging, and advertising. 3D rendering also offers greater flexibility, allowing products to be shown from multiple angles, in different colours or environments, without the cost and logistics of a physical photoshoot.

Question 4: How Long Does It Take to Create a Photorealistic 3D Render?
Answer 4: The timeline for producing a photorealistic 3D rendering depends entirely on the information provided by the client and the level of detail required for the project.
In some cases, clients provide full 3D models, which allows us to focus mainly on refining materials, lighting, texturing, and producing high-quality visuals. In other instances, we are required to design and model the entire space or product from scratch, especially when only sketches, references, or ideas are provided. Naturally, this adds to the overall production time.
The complexity of the project also plays a major role. Highly detailed or custom-designed spaces require more modelling, adjustments, and fine-tuning compared to simpler interiors or products.
On average, a single high-quality render can take approximately one to two days to complete. We have a dedicated professional visualization team focused solely on producing these images, which ensures efficiency and consistency in quality.
It’s also important to note that turnaround times can vary depending on our studio workflow at the time, as well as how actively the client is involved in feedback, approvals, and communication throughout the process.

Question 5: What's the Difference Between 3D Modeling and 3D Rendering?
Answer 5: 3D modeling and 3D rendering are two different stages of the same visualisation process, and each plays a very specific role.
3D modeling is the creation of the actual digital structure of a space or object. This is where the design is built in 3D, walls, furniture, architectural elements, or products are shaped and formed with accurate proportions and geometry. It is essentially the “construction” phase inside a computer.
3D rendering, on the other hand, is the process of turning that 3D model into a realistic image. This is where lighting, materials, textures, shadows, and atmosphere are added to create a photorealistic result that looks like a real photograph.
We specialise in photorealistic 3D rendering for architecture, interiors, and products. Depending on the project, we either work from existing 3D models provided by clients or create the full model ourselves before moving into the rendering stage.

Question 6: Why Do Companies Use Photorealistic 3D Renderings for Product Marketing?
Answer 6: Companies use photorealistic 3D renderings for product marketing because they offer a fast, flexible, and highly realistic way to showcase products before they are physically produced or photographed.
With 3D rendering, brands can present products in a polished, professional way for websites, advertising, packaging, and presentations, without the need for costly photo shoots or prototypes. It also allows for complete creative control, meaning products can be shown in different colours, materials, environments, and lighting conditions with ease.
